Credentials: When faced with a serious criminal charge, it's always important to have an experienced criminal defense attorney on your side. You need a lawyer who can protect your rights, make sure you're treated fairly, and who knows how to get results. Mike Sherman is that lawyer! Mike has over 19 years experience, including serving as an attorney with the Pennsylvania State Police for over 8 years. Mike knows both sides of the law!
From 1988 through 1996, Mike Sherman was an Assistant Counsel to the Pennsylvania State Police in Department Headquarters. For the first two and one half years, he prosecuted liquor code violations on behalf of the State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement.
In 1991, he became counsel to the State Police on all matters relating to law enforcement.
In 1997, he opened a law office strictly dedicated to criminal and DUI defense, as well as, personal injury cases.
Then, in 1999, he served as a member of the trial team that was appointed to represent the County of Allegheny located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the "Tobacco Litigation", a multimillion dollar lawsuit against the nation's largest tobacco companies. He sought damages for injuries caused to the county relating to payments it made for tobacco related illnesses.
He has handled cases before 25 County Courts of Common Pleas (County Trial Courts), traveling all over the state of Pennsylvania, and even out of state. He has appeared before each of the Pennsylvania's Appeals Courts: Commonwealth Court, Superior Court, and Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
